NEW TWIN VICE CHAPTER: [link]

Feeling pretty lousy. Ahh, this sounds really shallow of me, but I posted a new chapter of Twin Vice Paranormal Detectives (my Harry potter fic), and the hit counter's high but the review count isn't, so I'm thinking no one likes the latest twist in the plot :( I know I took a risk with it, but, yeah. Not feeling so confident now XD Writing's been a real struggle for me lately and I think it's showing. Uch, anyway, I'm feeling very down in the dumps tonight. You know that way where you want to cry, but you just can't? Haven't felt this bad for a long time.

Argh, I'm just feeling sorry for myself because I really hurt my back. Paaaaain :tears: I found it really hard-going in the book shop today. That and I've hurt my cracked rib again, probably the same way I injured my back, though I'm not sure how I did that either XD Hey, I fall down a lot! It's hard to keep track ^^;

Anyway, it meant that I couldn't sleep on either side last night, so I slept on my back instead which means - for some weird reason - I have terrible nightmares. My nightmares aren't just scary. They're incredibly vivid and realistic, and they stay with me forever. I've never forgotten a single one.

In this nightmare, I was on the top of a mountain in the Highlands with Fred Weasley (no complaints there :heart: ). He was searching for something, but he wouldn't say what. It was Autumn, so the grass and ferns were orange and bright yellow, a contrast against the grey cloud and drizzling rain; to anyone who's been on a mountain in these conditions, you'll know how grim and ominous it feels. We stopped for a rest at an old stone wall where a young blind woman stood, dressed in black, and asked if we wanted a wish or our fortunes told. I said no, because I was afraid of the price we'd have to pay in exchange, being all too familiar with Highland folktales. But Fred said he wanted to see a ghost. The woman agreed, but only on the condition that we wouldn't confront it when it passed, for speaking to a Taibh (Gaelic for spectre) costs you your soul.

At that moment we heard the clatter of horse hooves on a road, only there was no road on the hilltop. When we looked up, an old funeral carriage drawn by six black horses filled the sky, which might sound ridiculous, but imagine everything in this dream feels totally real - you can smell the peat and feel that bloody misty drizzling rain that gets in everywhere, and feel your feet sinking into the marsh. So seeing this carriage, touching down on the hill and galloping towards me was just damn wrong. The blind woman said we had to let the Taibh pass through us; if we moved it would stop and take us with it. We did as instructed, but once it passed Fred turned and followed, demanding that he wanted to see his own funeral. The carriage stopped and the rider pulled him on board and left before I could catch up.

I followed the carriage's trail for hours over this bleeding hill until I came to an old stone bridge where the three Peverell brothers stood (only, in looks they resembled that creature in the banquet scene in Pan's Labyrinth o_o), declaring they guarded the Water of Life and if I wanted to cross the bridge, I'd have to give them one of my ribs (wonder where that came from -_-). I did as told - oh, so graphic XD - then asked them if they knew how I could find Fred. They told me I would have to find the Grawny Man. I can't remember much of the rest, only images like the Grawny Man riding inside his carriage, who also resembled that bleeding terrifying thing in Pan's Labyrinth, only he wore a black cloak and cowl. And I remember looking down and finding the marsh was really blood and filled with bones, and later slipping down the hill and landing beside a loch where the body of a drowned woman dressed in Victorian garb washed up XD Ugh. So not a pleasant dream.

Btw, I am NOT on drugs LOL :rofl: This is just the kind of dream I have when I sleep on my back (which is why I tend to avoid it ^^; ). I also blame this on the number of folktales I read :shakefist:

In other news, does anyone else watch D-Gray Man? How AWESOME is that anime/manga?? I started reading it this time last year, but then someone spoiled me that Lavi (my favourite character and Fred-a-like) dies, so I stopped reading it lol XD And then, last week, I found out that he doesn't die, so it's all good! BOOYA! :w00t: Oh man, I cannot rave enough about how amazing it is. You'll just have to find out for yourselves :P

    WHAT THE BUGGERY?!

    New Harry Potter film's been pushed on to July instead of November, so I'm pretty miffed. That was going to be my de-stress movie XD I'm not sure why they're pushing the date forward. Maybe it has something to do with WB being butt-monkeys, who knows ¬_¬

    Edinburgh Fringe Rocks Again! BOOYA

    So I was up in Edinburgh for the Fringe (a big arts and cultural festival), making my brother buy me stuff on Saturday. Had a great day - got in some free comedy sketches, some good music, bad improv and a lot of beer. We didn't have enough time to catch a decent play though. There was a Terry Pratchett one that I would've loved to see and another Kat mentioned that's supposed to take place in Auschwitz. I think that one's majorly sold out though. Reviews have said it's extremely harrowing and mentally exhausting, but one of the best shows ever to appear on the Fringe.

    I had a wander around Greyfriar's churchyard, too. I love old graveyards - not in an emo sense, it's the archaeologist in me :heart: This particular graveyard has a love for the whole skull & bones motif. I mean, sheesh, talk about grim! And I was right - Sir George Mackenzie's (17th century Lord Provost and a Seer) grave site is barred off. I'm not usually freaked out by graveyards and I certainly wasn't expecting to feel anything creepy (I mean, I go to the Auld Kirk in Ayr all the time and feel bugger all, and yet there's a fecking song written about how wacked out that place is! XD), but gods, I'm not kidding, it's no bloody wonder that area is one of the world's most haunted places. Heebie jeebies, dudes XDD

    I'm going to book one of those nightly tours that takes you to the underground city in Edinburgh, which was walled up (along with all the people) to stop the plague from spreading. Dark, man ^^;

    Birthday...I'm Going to be Old

    My birthday's coming up in a week or so and I'm going to be (dun dun dun) 23 :tears: I don't want to grow up damnit! I want to be young and firm forever :cries:

    Ah well. It's like they say. You're as young as the arse your groping :D

    Sorry I haven't been on much lately. Health's not been great. I've been going to sleep in the early evening. But at least I'm getting proper treatment now. I just hope I reap the benefits of it before I start uni on the 22nd September.

    I'm really terrified of starting uni ^^; See, most people start university when they're 18, but because I'd been ill and missed so much schooling, I had to go to college and get all my qualifications before I could apply to uni (which took 4 years, not counting this year, which is my gap year).

    Not to harp on about it, but I just had such a terrible year last year. I don't fancy having another series of panic attacks like the ones I had back then. It was hellish. I really want to enjoy my time at uni - heck, I just want to get on with my life - but I'd be talking out my arse if I said I wasn't shit-scared. I guess everyone is, however.

    Oof, when did I turn into a wimp? ^^;

    ANYWAYS, in happier news - OMG NEW STAR WARS MOVIE OUT, WAAAAAAAAAAHH! Going to see it tomorrow. Seriously, NOTHING beats my Star Wars fixation, not even Harry Potter (scary, isn't it? XD). Ah Obi-Wan, my first true love. On Saturday I'm going up to Edinburgh for the festival. I haven't been to the Fringe in years, so I can't wait :dance:

    I got really pissed off last night when, in three separate cases, people referred to the whole of Britain as being just England. Arg! It kind of annoys me that people forget about Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland all the time, especially when they mistake Scots/Welsh/Irish stories for being English (e.g. most Arthurian legend comes out of Wales). It's silly, but it wounds my civic pride.

    Anyways, enough of my moaning. I promised you photos of the Highlands and here they are. Pics from my recent Highland adventures with ~Xilmin

    Rum Trip
    Sunset over Rum
    Kinloch Castle, where we stayed:
    From right to left, Hallival (I CONQUERED THAT BITCH - it looks really irritatingly teeny in this photo -_-) and Askival:
    Mausoleum we visited on the other side of the island - 18 mile walk XDD:

    Invereshie New Year Trip

    This was such an incredible walk. The loch was just thick with mist, it was so ghostly. I remember I was listening to the Stardust soundtrack here, in between driving Xi round the bend - so perfect.

    West Highland Way

    First is the sexiest mountain in the UK, Buchaille Etive Mor, or "The Mountain Herder" aka the mountain you see in all the Harry Potter films. They film just down Glen Etive on the left:

    Another shot of the Buchaille from Devil's Staircase:

    The top of Devil's Staircase (my M.E. had caught up to me at this point XD but the view was worth it) :

    Thar' you go mates! Hope that wasn't too boring. If you want to see more pics, hop on over to ~Xilmin's page :D

    Jeice & Saku Gift Pics

    Just to say thank you for all the Jeice & Saku fanart guys! Lahve to you fantastic douche bags! :blowkiss:

    Man, I am still hungover from last Friday night XD Check me out! Two guys asked me out in the space of ten minutes! :w00t: Good confidence boost ^^ Apparently a third guy attempted, but after watching me turn down the other two he lost his nerve, poor bugger ^^; What? I'm picky :rofl: Besides, seeing the way their mates treated their girlfriends as arm-decorations... yeah, not really my type. The guy who held the party is a good mate of mine, but is the type of person who literally spends thousands on his girlfriends (who are almost always leggy, peroxide blonde and thick as two short planks). Hmm, come to think of it I also turned him down too. XDDD lalalalala...

    Skeldon Open Day was great fun on Sunday. I love running around the estate with Rollie, the daft black labrador *loves him* But I'm really turning into Haruhi. Uber rich people are totally bogus. After talking to Mr Broadie, (he's a QC - Queen's Council - and owner of the estate), I realised that they live on a totally different plain of existence from normal people XD God, I mean I actually felt torn between embarrassment on his behalf and sheer rage. He was discussing pensions with my mum and at first he made a very good point, that billionaires like him shouldn't be granted a monthly pension. Then he went on to say, "with that pittance I take a very fine lady out to a meal at an expensive restaurant or buy a bottle of good champagne". Dear smegging smegma, you don't say that you douche bag! There will be people dying this winter of hypothermia because their £200 pension covers crap all and Broadie says he just spends his on wining and dining some woman? Jeebus. And excuse the expression, but his daughter is a horse-face. 'Daddy bought me a Porsche! *SNORT*' lol! :XD:

    In other news, the BBC were round filming the bookshop today. I think I might've been caught on camera eating my way out of a large coronation chicken sandwich :rofl:
